Position Summary: This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of hydraulic and mechanical press brakes in a just-in-time fabrication shop, and may be required to assist other operators on key work or machines as required.
Job Requirements
Essential Job Duties: 1. Set up and operate hydraulic and mechanical press brakes for routine and complex forming operations. 2. Select, align and secure correct tooling (dies, gauges, templates, shims, etc.) for the job task using all features of the press brake (bending at angles, step bends, proper back gauge transfer, etc.). 3. Plan sequence of bend operations applying knowledge of metal type and gauge. 4. Review paperwork to determine if the requested work product is to be certified by the UL or Intertek listing marks. 5. Inspect work product for defects, verify dimensions and bend angles using calibrated measuring instruments. 6. Upon completion of forming/bending operation, scan paperwork and route product to next workstation. 7. Log production and scrap data on a daily basis. 8. Perform assigned work to production and time standards. 9. Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues, or seek assistance. 10. Train less experienced operators. 11. Perform daily and periodic inspection of equipment and tools, and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance as prescribed in the manufacturers' operating instructions.
Education and Experience Requirements: 1. High school diploma or GED. 2. Vo-Tech training or minimum 5 years experience as a press brake operator.
