Setup and Operation:
Set up and operate press brakes, turret punches, and laser cutting machines for metal fabrication.
Select and secure proper tooling and raw materials based on job specifications.
Load programs and adjust machine parameters to ensure optimal performance.
Review paperwork to verify material certification for UL and Intertek compliance.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform daily and periodic maintenance of equipment per manufacturers' guidelines.
Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions, misalignments, or performance issues; record operational data; report deficiencies.
Report deficiencies and perform basic troubleshooting when necessary.
Production Documentation:
Log daily production, scrap data, and operational information.
Complete paperwork and scan product into the ERP system after processing.
Ensure all work meets production and time standards.
Quality Control:
Ensure all products conform to customer specifications and industry certifications (UL, Intertek).
Conduct quality assurance checks on all fabricated parts, ensuring dimensions, squareness, accuracy, and measurements are within tolerance levels.
Route completed products to the next workstation by use of scanning stations.
Keep work area clean and orderly.
Collaboration and Communication:
Communicate with shop personnel and the team lead to ensure workflow remains on schedule.
Train and assist less experienced operators as required.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction.
Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.

General Production Standards:
1. Compliance with industry, UL and Intertek procedures and with company policy, procedures and best practices, with special attention to safety procedures.
2. Responsible for all production variances within 1/32 of specifications (unless otherwise specified).
3. Responsible for inspection of work product to include UL and Intertek certification or classification, type, gauge, accurate measurement, squareness or accuracy of all cuts, and go / no-go determinations.
4. Perform only those functions for which the operator has training or experience.
Competencies:
1. Must have basic fabrication background.
2. Basic knowledge of laser operation and maintenance.
3. Familiarity with CNC programming and basic troubleshooting skills.
4. Competent at basic dimensional measuring and use of measurement tools.
5. Demonstrated competency in basic shop math including decimals and fractions.
6. Mechanical aptitude and an extreme attention to detail.
7. Computer skills, with a minimum proficiency in CNC, Microsoft Office 365, and timekeeping applications.
8. Ability to read and understand shop cut sheets and other shop drawing aids.
9. Safety conscious behavior.
10. Strong orientation toward quality and continuous improvement.
11. Must be punctual and have excellent attendance.
Physical Requirements:
1. Lift, carry, push or pull 1-65 lbs frequently.
2. Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
3. Sit, stand and walk for 1-10 hours per day.
4. Ability to work in a 40 100-degree Fahrenheit work environment.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing.
Education and Experience Requirements:
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Vo-Tech training or minimum 1 year experience as a Laser or CNC operator.
3. Competent in basic dimensional measuring, shop math, and understanding metal properties.
4. At least 6 months brake press and sheer machine operation experience.
