Position: Construction Materials Technician also called CMT Engineering Technician (Construction Materials Testing)
Start Immediately! Schedule: Monday Friday (6:00 AM 6:00 PM), with flexibility required for early morning, late-night, and weekend shifts. Some projects may require overtime or weekend availability, depending on testing needs and site conditions. Early morning concrete pours (as early as midnight 4:00 AM) may occasionally be required. Work hours can vary based on project demands, weather conditions, and client scheduling, so adaptability is key. Pay & Compensation:
$17-$18/hr starting pay (DOE) $1.00/hr raise after contract-to-hire completion Additional $1.00/hr for each certification obtained (we cover certification costs & help you prepare for exams!) Mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate ($0.70/mile).
Job Requirements
What You ll Do:
Travel to construction sites to collect soil and concrete samples for testing. Perform on-site soil and concrete testing to ensure compliance with project specifications. Deliver collected samples to the lab for further analysis. Work independently in the field while maintaining accurate documentation of test results. What We re Looking For:
Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver s license (no DUIs). Must have a truck or a vehicle capable of transporting testing equipment ( No SUV's, sedans/coupes are not suitable). Ability to lift 50 lbs (equipment and sample transport required). Basic reading, writing, and communication skills (you will need to read plans and write reports). This role requires someone with strong time management skills and a flexible schedule, as testing schedules can shift due to project deadlines, weather conditions, and unexpected changes in construction timelines.
